PRODUCT FEATURES The DIY Calm Down Bottle is made from hardwearing Tritan plastic, so it can withstand most knocks and drops. Silicone caps to further cushion the impact of being dropped. Silicon caps are textured to provide additional sensory input. Comes with all the glitter and sparkles to put in the bottle. Dimensions: 21cm x 5cm in diameter, so it’s the perfect size for little hands. FILLING THE DIY CALM DOWN BOTTLE The DIY Calm Down Bottle is shipped to you without any water. You place the provided sparkles and glitter in the bottle then add water, or you may also include some type of liquid soap or dishwashing liquid. The soap serves two purposes: It prevents the contents from clumping together and sticking to the sides of the bottle. It slows down the speed that the contents move about inside the bottle. Without soap the contents will quickly sink to the bottom. The more soap you add, the slower the movement. We recommend a minimum of one tablespoon of liquid soap. You can experiment with adding more soap. You can also experiment with how much you fill the bottle. If you don’t completely fill it, there will be an air bubble inside the bottle, and this bubble will fill with soap bubbles when you shake the bottle. The bubbles can add another element, but most people think that the bubbles take too much attention away from the sparkles, so they prefer to fill the bottle completely so that there aren’t any bubbles. REFILLING AND CLEANING THE BOTTLE The bottle should be emptied and cleaned about every 1-3 months because after a while the soap breaks down and doesn’t have the desired effect, as well as making the water cloudy. Empty the contents of the bottle into a rice sieve so you can rinse them and reuse them, or you can add new glitter and sparkles. You can also add different items to create a new experience for your child. Experiment with rice, grains, nuts, buttons, Lego, small plastic toys such as little animals. You can even use leaves, petals and small flowers, but you may have to clean them out more often. Clean the bottle thoroughly with warm soapy water. Both the bottle and the caps can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. The Silicone caps can also be cleaned in a sterilizer.
